I have walking talking store - Business tales

Why waste money on rent, when you can have a walking-talking store, like me?"
"It's a great way to sell...do you have a name for it?"
"Yes...it's called Jugaad."

Orphans are GOD gifts, our responsibility - Humanity is Religion

About 15 years ago, I visited an orphanage where my brother-in-law was distributing bread-butter to the children who were so grateful to try something different. I’ve always been a housewife who loves feeding my children everything they wish to eat and it pained me to know that these children weren't getting to experience the excitement of eating their favorite dish.
Since then, every weekend I feed about 350 children from orphanages and the Blind School, whatever they wish to eat. I wake up at 4 am every Saturday and cook for them, as I would for my own children and this is the highlight of my life…I live for it. Just last weekend I made 50 kgs worth of mango ras for them and my God, you should have seen their faces! They were thrilled… and I can’t put into words how that made me feeI-- I was just so happy.”

My Mom is giving her best in education - Relationship story

Every morning before and after school, I help my mother at the shop. She's raised me by herself, so I want to help her out as much as I can. I also come here because this way, I get to spend more time with her -- so in between, when there are no customers I tell her about what I learnt at school. I'm also teaching mama some Math -- she's very bad at calculations -- while I'm here I handle it, but when I'm not she makes a lot of mistakes. But I've found a solution to that as well...
I ask her to play 'teacher - teacher' with me and try to make her addition and subtraction better and she's learning well-- she's my best student!"

Emotional intelligence is key to all problems - Humanity story

I was born in Gambia, Africa but lived pretty much all over the world because as career diplomats, my parents were constantly on the move. Having lived in so many different places, I realised that human behaviour is the same all over the world no matter which country, religion or race.
It all originates from what we as children grow up believing or accepting as the truth. If as a child you talk back, throw tantrums or are withdrawn…there are reasons for all those things, but we just don't understand them.
While most schools focus on the Intelligence Quotient of young adults, very few focus on the Emotional Intelligence…something that helps children reflect, understand and correct their actions. I founded ‘Global Village Children’ to help schools include Emotional Development into the curriculum of children.
What we want the world to understand is that, disgruntled children go on to become disgruntled adults. If we teach children that we can’t control the actions of others and that we’re responsible for the actions of only one ‘being’ in the entire world - ourselves…we will empower an entire generation.
The only way to World Peace is to raise a generation thats at peace with themselves, and the road to that is to place as much importance on our emotional understanding as we do on Math, History or Physics. The grades will come and go, but understanding what it takes to be a good human being is a lifelong skill…something that can’t be replaced.”
